How do aspiring radio hosts use Radiocast?
Radiocast describes itself as internet radio hosting that puts stream hosting, broadcast automation and a station website in one account. For a first-time host, the bigger decision is which plan's limits fit, not which features exist.
Station features for first-time hosts
- AutoDJ. Radiocast says AutoDJ runs your playlists, jingles and top-of-hour IDs around the clock, so the station keeps playing when you log off. - Live shows. You can go live from its browser Web DJ or from your own broadcasting software over Icecast. - Listeners. Each station gets a page in the Radiocast directory, and listeners can request songs while you keep the final say.
The decision: which plan
Radiocast lists its $5.99/mo Professional plan "for a new station getting started", with up to 100 listeners and 10GB storage. Live HTTP streaming and a 200-listener cap start at the $8.99/mo Small Business plan. If you expect more than 100 concurrent listeners or need live HTTP streaming, the entry plan will not cover it.
